FMES is formed through the compound sulfonation fatty acid methyl esters and fatty alcohol esters. It is an anionic, nonionic surfactant of excellent performance. Moderate foaming, alkali resistant, good emulsifying, dispersing, able to remove heavy dirt like medium and high temperature wax and grease, as well as anti-contamination. In detergent formulations like low-foaming laundry detergents, soap liquids, laundry creams, and industrial high-efficiency cleaning powders, it is often used.
