Lubrication property and application of tungsten sulfide

Tungsten disulfide is a compound of tungsten and sulfur in a state of dark gray powder, insoluble in water and organic solvents, and does not react with acids and bases (except for a mixture of concentrated nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid), and its molecular formula is WS2.
Property of tungsten disulfide as a solid lubricant :

1. It has a very low coefficient of friction (0.03), high resistance to extreme pressure and oxidation resistance (450 °C in air begins to decompose, 650 °C completely decomposes, 1100 °C in vacuum begins to decompose, 2000 °C completely decomposes). It is suitable for lubrication under various harsh conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, high vacuum, high load, high speed, high radiation, strong corrosion and ultra low temperature. 2, has a good adsorption capacity on the metal surface. It can be added to the engineering plastic to make the original or evenly mixed with some volatile solvents, and then sprayed on the metal surface to improve the life of the mold and the surface finish of the workpiece. 3. The tungsten disulfide powder can be combined with oils and fats to form tungsten disulfide oil, tungsten disulfide grease, tungsten disulfide wax and other solid lubricating blocks and lubricating films. In addition, tungsten disulfide can also be used as a catalyst in the petrochemical industry, which has the advantages of high cracking performance, stable and reliable catalytic activity, and long service life.
Product Usage: 

It can be used as a lubricant. It has better performance than molybdenum disulfide, lower friction coefficient and higher compressive strength. Used alone for high temperature, high pressure, high speed, high load, and equipment for transport in chemically active media. Forging and stamping lubricants with other materials can extend the life of the mold and improve the smoothness of the product. Filling materials formulated with PTFE and nylon can be used to make self-lubricating parts. WS2 is used in a wide range of applications, in addition to aerospace, automotive and carbon anti-wear materials, as well as grease. Any product that adds MOS2 to the grease can be replaced by WS2.
