Rare earth elements are a group of seventeen chemical elements that appear together. This group consists of yttrium and 15 lanthanide elements (lanthanum, cerium, neodymium, pro, sa, ... th, and th). Most are found in most rare earth element deposits and are sometimes classified as rare earth elements. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry includes sodium in its definition of rare earth elements.
 
Rare earth elements are metals, and this group is often referred to as "rare earth metals". These metals have many similar properties, which usually cause them to be found together in geological sediments. They are also called "rare earth oxides" because many of them are usually sold as oxides.
 
Applications of Rare earth elements
Rare earth elements containing rare earth metals and alloys are used in many devices that people use every day, such as computer memory, DVDs, rechargeable batteries, mobile phones, catalytic converters, magnets, fluorescent lamps, and so on.
