Application
Electroplating of platinum, manufacturing of platinum spongeAmmonium hexachloroplatinate(IV) is used in electroplating of platinum and to make spongy platinum. It reacts with copper(II) acetate and hydrogen sulfide to prepare Cu2PtIIPt3IVS8 which finds application in diamagnetic materials and semiconductors. It is also used in platinum plating. Further, it acts as an analytical reagent.
